Nowadays, there are two common business models for cosmetic packaging materials. One is the OEM model. The so-called OEM model means that the cosmetics brand does the design and formulates the style of the packaging materials by itself. The manufacturer is only OEM. As for whether the design is done by the brand’s own internal design department or by another design company, it is not certain. There are two situations, but this has nothing to do with the OEM manufacturer. The manufacturer is only responsible for production, ensuring quality and quantity and completing the order on time. Overall, most well-known brands will choose the OEM method. Because the scale of well-known brands is relatively large, there are a series of considerations in brand positioning, planning activities, etc. In addition, well-known brands have their own design departments. To maintain the brand culture, series of products, etc., the design is generally not outsourced. Such companies also have strict requirements for manufacturers, and most of them require manufacturers to have various national licenses and certificates of conformity. The delivery requirements for products are also relatively strict. Although the requirements are strict, because the orders from well-known brands are large and the payment is guaranteed, the orders from such companies can be said to be what all manufacturers want to win.

Another is the one-stop model. The so-called one-stop model means that the brand is only responsible for making requirements and payment. The design is done by the processing manufacturer. Niche brands generally choose this model. Because niche brands have limited corporate scale and can do limited things, they are generally brands that have just been established for a short time and have not been thoroughly studied in some aspects, so they tend to choose one-stop services.
